This recipe book, complied by veterinary surgeon Robert Barlow, contains a detailed collection of weights, measurements, and and medicines for animals. Among the many treatments are recipes for Alum Ointment, Strong Mercurial Ointment, Ointment of Nitrate of Mercury, Mange Ointment, and Hoof Ointment. The book also features a preface written by John Morton of the Veterinary College, dated August 1826.
Notably, it includes several medical preparations that were commonly used in the College at the time, offering valuable insights into early 19th-century veterinary practices.
