Collection compiled by Eileen Butler, district nurse in the Grassington/Burnsall area of North Yorkshire. Butler, whose father was a medical missionary in Rhodesia, trained as a nurse at Leeds General Infirmary from 1946-1950. She also did a midwifery course straight after her initial training, before becoming a trainee district nurse working from Cross Hills. She stayed in that area and worked as a district nurse in the Keighley area throughout her career, living at Glusburn from c.1952-53. Her area included villages in the Grassington, Burnsall and Hebden area of the Yorkshire Dales.
