Collection compiled by Paul J Hughes of internal publications produced by John Charnley for colleagues at Charnley's Centre for Hip Surgery, at Wrightington Hospital. The collection consists of internal publications (not complete) produced by Charnley between 1966 and 1977; a book compiling the history of the Charnley Low Friction Society; articles written by John Older, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at The Charnley Hip Unit, following Charnley's death in 1982 including a tribute to Charnley; articles by F. Hugh Howorth titled 'Prevention of Airborne Infection during Surgery' (1973), 'Prevention of Aeromicrobiological Infection during Surgery', 'The Evolution and Development of Clean Air Systems for Surgery' (1993); 'The Prevention of Airborne Infection during Surgery with the EXFLOW Clean Zone' (with Charnley); copy of article by O.
