Correspondence, reports and handwritten notes relating to the shortage of nurses at Leeds General Infirmary's Wellcome Ward, compiled by Leslie Pyrah. Includes correspondence sent by Pyrah discussing the problem of nursing shortages to Sir Donald Kaberry and Sir George W Martin [members of the Board of Governors of the University of Leeds in 1963] and G E Watts [matron at Leeds General Infirmary], minutes of the meeting of the United Leeds Hospitals Nurse Recruitment Sub-Committee in May 1962 and December 1963, papers suggesting improvements for nursing recruitment, newspaper articles about nursing shortages, advertising brochure for Saint James Hospital in Balham, London, correspondence sent to Pyrah from Wandsworth Hospital Group regarding the number of nurses required to run a Metabolic Unit, memorandum produced by Pyrah titled 'Memorandum re Artifical Kidney Unit - Service of the Artificial Kidney for Routine Hospital Patients'.
