Collection of items relating to Thomas Eagland, surgical mechanician based in Leeds. Includes Thomas Eagland's handwritten manuscript titled 'Remarks on Trussmaking', about the history of trussmaking, five copies of typed up transcripts of Eagland's manuscript, advertisements for Eagland's New "Registered Splint" for extension of the knee joint, designs of truss bandages and girdles, sample drawings of Eagland's splint, measurements and diagrams for H.O. Thomas's appliances for treatment of diseased kneejoints, diseases of the ankle joint and inflammation of the metatarsal joints, and measurements required for H.O. Thomas's hip-joint splint, list of appliances used in the treatment of wounds (excerpt from Krohne and Sesemann book, title unknown), handwritten notes relating to trussmaking and orthopaedic surgery.

The collection also contains two floppy disks containing transcripts of the manuscript; one is 3.5 inches and one is 5.25 inches in diameter.
