Scope and content
Two documents relating to apprenticeship indentures, dated 29 June 1836, for James John Phillips, son of John Phillips of the Strand, London, who was apprenticed to Henry Perry of Greenwich Road, cutter, to learn the trade of making surgical instruments, for a term of six years. Both documents contain signatures of all parties; the 1836 indenture contains seals of all parties. The second document appears to be a renewal of the original agreement, dated 1842.
