Scope and content
Documents relating to a portrait of John Thornton Ingram, unveiled at a ceremony at Leeds General Infirmary in 1959. Includes a newspaper cutting from the Yorkshire Post reporting on the ceremony in October 1959, list of subscribers to Ingram's portrait (including L.N. Pyrah and H.S. Shucksmith), copy of letter issued by Ingram to subscribers thanking them for the portrait, a black and white photograph of Ingram, seated and wearing a suit, by Hay Wrightson Limited, and photographs of the portrait painted by Frank Eastman. The file also includes an obituary of Ingram, written in 1972 by Lord Cohen of Birkenhead.
