Scope and content
Correspondence and reports relating to Ingram's retirement as Chair of Dermatology from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Includes a goodbye card signed by the Department of Dermatology at the Royal Victoria Infirmary at Newcastle Upon Tyne, letters sent by Ingram to the Board of Governors at University of Newcastle Upon Tyne thanking them for their help, letters thanking Ingram for his help and wishing him well in retirement including from Newcastle Regional Hospital Board and United Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals, correspondence from the St. John's Hospital Dermatological Society confirming that Ingram would be made an Honorary Fellow of the Society, letter from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne confirming that Ingram would be given the title of Emeritus Professor following his retirement, letters from staff at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, including Vice-Chancelor Charles Bosanquet, thanking Ingram for a permanent loan of his library and watercolour paintings of skin diseases, letter from the University of Pennsylvania thanking Ingram for sending a research associate to work in Pennsylvania University Hospital for twelve months, letter from the Royal Victoria Infirmary Department of Radiology at Newcastle Upon Tyne inviting Ingram and his wife to a party in February 1965 to present him with a cheque for his retirement, copy of Ingram's final report as chair of the department of dermatology for July 1963-July 1964, copy of the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne Medical Gazette for December 1964 which contained an article by Ingram titled 'Obiter Dicta at Sixty Five' and valedictions of Ingram. The file also contains a letter from Leeds University dated June 1949, thanking Ingram for his gift of a bookcase to their medical library.
