Prototype articulated left hand prosthesis, Chas F Thackray Ltd, circa 1950. Thumb made from varnished wood; most of hand covered in another material, possibly urethane foam. Thumb has pull cord attached that when fitted to prosthesis would enable movement of thumb to provide grip between thumb and index finger. Metal base plate for attachment into prosthesis.
