The discovery of Xrays led to their use in medicine almost immediately. Xrays enabled medics to understand what was happening in the body without the need for invasive exploration. This tube is particularly interesting as it was made by G.W. Watson whilst a schoolboy, who later became a radiologist at the Leeds General Infirmary.
